1. Islam says ....
According to Islamic ideology, Sharia law, and the text of the Qur'an and various Hadiths (biographical accounts), the killing of non-Muslims in defence of Islam, or to preserve the public perception of Islam, is a core teaching and widely seen in the practice of Jihad, whether it be against individuals or specific groups of people. The present writer believes that this element of Islamic ideology and practice is behind the senseless killing of Australians at Bondi Beach in December 2025, and of Australian-born American citizen Justine Damond (1997-2017) in the United States in July 2017 by Somalia-born Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor (born 1985). The case for this view is presented below.

2. The killing of Justine
At 11.51pm on Saturday, 15 July 2017, Minneapolis yoga teacher and life coach Justine Damond Ruszczyk was shot dead at close range by Somali police officer Mohamed Noor as she approached the police car he was seated in with another officer. Justine was seeking to provide details to the officers concerning her 911 call 14 minutes earlier, whereby she had reported a possible rape occuring near her house. Two young and relatively inexperienced police officers were despatched to the scene to check the report and interview Justine. They were Matthew Harrity and Mohamed Noor, each with less than two years active service. The two carried out a brief search in the area and reported back to base finding nothing. As Justine approached their police car to talk to them, Noor, sitting in the front passenger seat, got out his gun and fired at her from within the car, across his partner Harrity, killing Justine with a single, close shot to the abdoman. She died twenty minutes later.
Noor killed Justine for no reasonable reason. In court his defence was that he was "spooked", but no reason was provided for this reaction, apart from a suggestion by other officers that someone had knocked on the car as the two officers were sitting inside. Once again, it seemed unreasonable and unbelievable that two police officers would be so "spooked" by a knock on their car that they would react by drawing their guns and shooting a woman in her dressing gown, in light of the fact that they were answering a call in connection with a report by a woman of a woman being raped. It seems more likely in such circumstances for the officers to react or be alert to a man in the vicinity at the time (close to midnight), not a woman.
Judging by dashcam and body cam footage of officers who subsequently attended the scene, there was an immediate cover-up by the Minneapolis police department to the shooting, with information tampered with and officers refusing to testify at trial, including senior management. At trial, pre-employment psychological assessments of Noor clearly stated that he was not a suitable candidate for police officer. During the 21 months in which he was on the job his unsuitability was exposed and he was already on notice for three infringements for inappropriate behaviour, with two outstanding complaints. These are referred to in the following analysis by psychologist Dr. Todd Grande.

Grande can find no reasonable explanation for the killing, and is extremely critical of both the police department and Noor. He does not comment on the work of the legal team defending Noor, or the subsequent judicial decisions going in his favour. Initially charged with 3rd Degree Murder and Manslaughter and sentenced to 13 years in prison, Noor's case was subsequently overturned and downgraded to 2nd Degree Manslaughter and Culpable Negligence, with a sentence of just 57 months. He was released in 2022 after serving just over three years. Grande noted that Noor should have been charged with 2nd Degree Murder at minimum, though it can be argued that the murder was pre-meditated - in light of his Muslim background as outlined in detail below - which would have brought a more just 1st Degree Murder charge and conviction. The fact that just two months earlier, in May 2017, Noor was being sued for allegedly assaulting a woman whilst on duty, perhaps foreshadows the killing of Justine.

3. A reason to kill
Why would a Muslim Somali police officer shoot and kill an innocent white woman who had reported a possible rape crime being carried out in Minneapolis?
In the view of the present writer, the only answer is that Noor's Islamic misogynistic ideological upbringing was the foundation upon which he acted, perhaps reinforced by practical experiences both in Somalia and the United States. Of course the aforementioned pre-employment psychological reports point to problems in his ability to deal with the public. With regards to Islam, victims of rape in Islamic countries or otherwise subject to Sharia law, have historically faced penalties for "zina" (unlawful sex) if they couldn't prove rape. They have usually then been accused of adultery and punished accordingly, including death by public stoning. Those falsely reporting crimes of rape may also be subject to censure and punishment. Noor would also have been aware of the seriousness with which rape is dealt with in Western countries, as opposed to non-Western countries and Islamic states where due to Sharia and the aforementioned discriminatory practices, reports of rape are much rare. As the first Somali police officer in Minneapolis, Noor may have felt pressure to ensure that as part of his duties he needed to protect the reputation of the local Islamic Somali community. As such, the rape of a woman by a Somali man would have been a crime he would not wish to allow happen, or be involved in prosecuting. He would therefore seek to cover it up in some way. In this instance he could achieve that by killing Justine and claiming he did this to protect his colleague Harrity. Or, perhaps he simply sought to kill Justine because she had reported a rape, and Noor believed that in doing this she had transgressed against his Islamic beliefs as Muslim, realising that in all likelihood the rapist was a fellow Somali immigrant.
If we accept such scenarios, then we can see where Noor would therefore feel the need to carry out jihad and murder Justine in the name of Allah, and then use the Islamic practice of Taqiyya (deception) to lie about the reason behind the killing. In doing this, and irregardless of whether he went to prison or not, he would eventually be rewarded by God with a place in the afterlife in the Paradise Gardens (Heaven) where he could for eternity engage in carnal pleasures with 'black-eyed virgins' who would forever remain chaste. The virgins - pre-pubescent and older males and females - would be his reward for defending Islam by killing Justine the Infidel. This scenario is taken directly from the teachings of Islam as presented in the Qur'an and as commonly practiced his his home country of Somalia. Sexual abuse of women in Somalia has long been highlighted by the United Nation and human rights groups. This scenario may seem unbelievable and extreme. However any person who has read the Qur'an and is aware of the history of Islam over the last fourteen centuries, and especially of Somalia right up to the present, would be aware of its plausibility.

4. Corruption exposed - 2017 to 2026
This article is being written in January 2026 as turmoil reins in Minneapolis, with the violent protests against ICE and Border Force officers; the shooting dead of protestor Renee Good; the ongoing investigations, convictions and revelations regarding the $8 billion corruption schemes involving the local Somali community; and the increasing likelihood that Somali-born Congress woman Ilhan Omar will be striped of her elected position and deported by the Trump government. With such activities being exposed, and claims that Minneapolis is run by the Somalis, is it possible that the reason the murder of this Australian citizen was treated with such disregard and disdain is related to corruption in the state and the undue influence of the Somali community? It seems highly likely. At the time, the Lord Mayor was Jacob Fry and Police Chief was Maderia Ardondo.
Former Minnesota congress woman Michelle Bachman insinuated that Justine was killed for cultural reasons. She was heavily criticised for this, being labelled racist and Islamophobic, as anyone who criticises Islam is. A local Somali city councillor named Warsame made the following statement at the time of Justine's death in an effort to defer the blame:
This is not a Somali problem; this is not an Islam problem; this is not an immigrant problem. This is a policing problem.
The fact is, the murder of Justine was at its heart an Islam problem. It was also, of course, a specific Muslim Somali problem in Minnesota and an immigration problem. Warsame was one of may throughout Minnesota who sought to hide the corruption being carried out in the state by raising issues such as racism, Islamophobia, and freedom of religion. All of these were utilised over at least three decades to hide a range of illegal activities, including the murder of Justine.

Mohamed Noor should never been put in the position of being a police officer; the police department should not have sought to cover up his crime in defence of its reputation; the authorities should not have sought to cover up the crime in defence of the Somali community; and Warsame's statements were another example of Taqiyya in defence of Islam. In light of what we now know in 2026 regarding the widespread corruption in Minnesota involving the Somali community and community leaders such as Somali Congress woman Ilhan Omar, Governor Tim Walz, Minneapolis Lord Mayor Jacob Fry, and the various chiefs of police and city councillors, the sad fate of Justine Damon becomes so much more clearer.
