1. Albo's wavering

The issue of Palestine is a modern-day humanitarian and political crisis. Thousands of innocent civilians have been affected - killed, injured, displaced, traumatised and forced to flee. Blame can be attributed to many different parties, and over an extensive period of time. Any long-term solution is still a mere hope and dream. It is an issue which has affected not only the people of Palestine, but those in communities around the world, including Australia. Here a Free Palestine movement has been prominent for a number of years and is strongly supported within the community. Whilst the support is primarily humanitarian, it is also political, and in this latter area problems have arisen, primarily in regard to its anti-Semitic attacks on the Jews of Israel - attacks which far outweigh criticisms of the HAMAS terrorist organisation and its jihad against the state of Israel.

The Prime Minister of Australia, in the wake of the Bondi Beach Massacre of 14 December 2025, came under fire for his lack of action in stemming an increasing tide of anti-Semitism in his country following on the HAMAS invasion of Israel on 7 October 2023 and brutal massacre of more than 1,200 Israelis. Questions arose as to why his Labor Party government was lax in this area - was it party political or personal on the part of Albanese? No clear answer was forthcoming in the months following Bondi.

2. Francesca and the United Nations

In seeking an answer, the present writer came across the following Google AI search when entering keywords such as Albanese and Palestine:

Francesca Albanese.

Francesca Albanese (United Nations Special Rapporteur for Palestine) and Anthony Albanese (Australian Prime Minister) share a surname but are not related; she's an Italian human rights lawyer focused on Palestinian territories, while he's an Australian politician. They've both made headlines, with Francesca facing US sanctions for her criticisms of Israel, and Anthony leading Australia's government, recently recognizing Palestinian statehood.

At this point in time, it is uncanny that two Albanese's should feature prominently on the international stage in connection with the issue of Palestine, and also that they should both be facing criticisms from a number of sides of the political and societal spectrums. Though they are apparently not related, it is nevertheless interesting to look at the example of two Leftist warriors from the Western civilisation side of things - Italy and Australia - as they fight for the current population of Palestine in a conflict which appears to have no resolution in sight, despite the intervention of the United States and President Donald Trump from 2025. Their fight denies the fact that the Jewish people are indigenous to the land recently designated Israel; that they were cast out of their land by Muslims from the time that Muhammed took control of Medina as a warlord and began preaching his Islamic doctrine which called for the jihad killing of all Jews. This fourteen centuries of genocide against the Jewish people in the name of Islam has been completely ignored by Western supporters of the Free Palestine movement, as they only see through a limited lense the so-called genocide of Palestinian people as a result of the war between HAMAS and Israel. Yes, there have been killings of innocent people in large numbers, but to call it a genocide is patently wrong. The Palestinians have been collateral damage in a war in which HAMAS has sought the destruction of the state of Israel and the Israelis have sought to defend themselves. Without the latter aspect viewed as one of the two main causes of the death of Palestinians, the call of "genocide" against Israel is not defensible.

As of writing, Francesca Albanese is involved in legal action in the United States over her activities in support of Palestine and in criticising Israel from her position as a Special Rapporteur for the United Nations. The following is a summary of the case, from those who brought it against her:

Christian Friends of Israeli Communities (CFOIC), together with the National Jewish Advocacy Center (NJAC) and Christians for Israel USA, have initiated a lawsuit against Francesca Albanese, a former United Nations Special Rapporteur. This decisive legal action responds to a series of false and defamatory statements she has made about our organizations and those who stand with us.

Why We Filed This Lawsuit

Ms. Albanese has publicly accused CFOIC, our partners, and our supporters of promoting “apartheid,” “genocide,” and “crimes against humanity.” These claims are not only untrue but also antisemitic and dangerous. They seek to intimidate Christians and other people of faith who express their biblical commitment to bless Israel.

Defending Truth and Protecting Our Community

Our mission is to strengthen the communities of the Biblical Heartland of Israel—supporting families, encouraging economic development, and bringing hope to a region that needs it. By attacking us, Ms. Albanese is attempting to silence thousands of Christians worldwide who share this mission of blessing and solidarity.

This lawsuit is about more than protecting our own name. It is about safeguarding the right of Christians everywhere to stand with Israel without fear of harassment, sanctions, or legal threats. We will not allow false accusations to undermine a cause that is rooted in truth and faith.

The charges against Albanese reveal the lengths to which certain activists go in support of the cause of Palestine, and the trouble they can get themselves into. Her Australian counterpart has similarly suffered arising out of his support for Palestine. But why is this so, if the cause is a just one? The answer is - it is not the support for Palestine that is the problem; it is the often associated anti-Semitism that is the problem and the connection between it, Zionism and the role of the state of Israel in the conflict. This anti-Semitism has existed for a long time on the part of Islam, but for Left wing Westerners to take it up as part of their support for Palestine is a new phenomena, and very problematic. Muslim hatred of the state of Israel is ideological and unwavering. To conflate that with the role of Israel in the war with HAMAS, which is based in Palestine, is also problematic, as it has meant that, to the public at large, Israel has entered into war with Palestine, and the people of that land have suffered horribly as a result.....

Ganko, Josefine, Albanese slams Albanese's 'pathetic' response to Trump's Gaza plan, Brisbane Times, 6 February 2025. Text:

The Albanese government’s response to Donald Trump’s plan to “take over”, level and rebuild Gaza, displacing millions of Palestinians in the process, has been condemned as “pathetic” by United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories Francesca Albanese. Giving her broad views on Trump’s move in an interview with ABC’s RN Breakfast, Albanese called the bid “nonsense” but implored that the plan could not be ignored because it is “absolutely, utterly unlawful”. “This is a declaration that the United States intends to commit a crime of forced displacement of the Palestinian people. And also, it’s an act of aggression,” Albanese said. Albanese questioned why the media and world leaders were unwilling to call Israel’s campaign in Gaza a genocide, noting that there had been no ICJ determination in the case of the Armenian Genocide or the Holocaust, and yet they were both universally accepted as examples of genocide. “There has never been such a consensus of human rights organisations on genocide, scholars and others, that this is genocide,” she said. Another perspective - US President Donald Trump and Gazans returning to the ruins of their home – the one from which he wants to remove them. “The ICJ recognised the plausible risk of genocide [in January 2024]. This should have been enough to trigger the responsibility of countries to intervene. What the international community, including Australia, have done is nothing.” Albanese continued her criticism of the Australian government, calling Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s response that didn’t condemn Trump’s plan but instead reiterated the Labor’s commitment to a two-state solution “pathetic”. “If Australia is not ready to recognise the state of Palestine, it has nothing to say about the two-state solution,” she said. “It has nothing to contribute with when it comes to the two-state solution, but it still has obligations under international law not to aid and assist a system that is committing international crimes, as Israel is doing.”

Comment: Frankly, the only way the people of Gaza can find peace and freedom is via Donald Trump's plan. Why? Because Muslims have declared that they will never stop trying to destroy the state of Israel. As such, the only way Israel can survive is by an alliance with the United States and other nations, and an ongoing offensive against Islamic forces reigned against them. If Palestine became a "independent" state, under the protection of Israel and the United States - not an Islamic state subject to Sharia law and a vessel of Islam extremists who refuse to grant them independence - then its future would be more secure than it is at present, and the well-being of its people would be immensely improved rather than it is under Islamic rule and control by organisations such as HAMAS. Trump's plan is not as silly or as stupid as people in the West have been led to believe, and as the present writer believed when it was first revealed back in February 2025. HAMAS and the Muslim Brotherhood are not operating in good faith in regard to the welfare of the people of Palestine. Islam's and the Left's portrayal of Israel and the US as the baddies in this situation ignores the fact that on at least two occasions in the passed they offered statehood to Palestine. In both cases the Muslim leadership turned it down because of the reason stated above.
