1. Claims

The following account is both hilariously funny and deeply concerning. It is a list of the claims of Jason Arday (b.1985), former Professor of Sociology at Cambridge University, England. Some of the claims are false; others are fact. Arday announced his leaving Cambridge on 5 August 2026, following on months wherein his credentials were questioned, and a media blitz which referred to his appointment as an example of WOKE / DEI ideology. Arday was young and black, and "ticked the boxes" when it came to other aspects of his private and professional life. Some defended him and claimed the attacks against him were racially driven; others pointed to the accusation of plagiarism connected with his PhD and the many claims he made which were proven to be false, along with items on his CV, such as a book which was never published. All in all he fell on a sword of his own making, though he had help along the way in forming that sword.

2. Chronology

Some of the claims are listed below and referred to in the following videos.

• 1985 - Born in 1985 to parents from Ghana.
• 1988 - Diagnosed as autistic.
• 1996 - Unable to speak until the age of 11.
• 2003 - Learns to read and write at the age of 18.
• Is attacked and develops epilepsy.
• 2006 - Carried out overseas charity work in Brazil for a charity which never sends people overseas.
• 2008 - University of Surrey grants him a Bachelor of Arts degree. Subsequently attains an MA and Postgraduate Certificate in Education.
• 2010 - reported that the ran 300 miles in 3 days. No evidence for this, nor for the claim that he ran 600 miles in 6 days. He later claimed he did it in 12 days.
• 2012 - bearer of the Olympic Torch.
• 2015 - Completes a PhD at Liverpool John Moores University entitled An Exploration of Peer-Mentoring among Student Teachers'to Inform Reflective Practice within the Context of Action Research.
• Clams of plagiarism by Arday have been substantiated by Cofnas (2026) and BlackBeltBarrister (2026). Turnitin etc. reveals numerous and substantial examples of plagiarism of Paula Zwozdiack-Myers PhD thesis of 2009. Arday occasionally references her thesis, but substantially uses large tracts of the thesis without noting such.
• Claimed therein that he carried out an academic study which had actually been undertaken by Paula Zwozdiack-Myers.
• Richard Dawkins latter criticises the thesis and its supervisors.
• Ran 30 marathons in 35 days, 9 with a broken leg - False.
• Raised £5 1/2 million for charity - False. He later claimed he was part of a secret syndicate of 100 people which raised the money, and therefore could not provide any details.
• Spent time at Crystal Palace Football Club - False.
• Appeared as a child on the famous Seven Up documentary series - False. It required him to have been born twenty years before he was actually born.
• Claimed to have published a book issued by Palgrave entitled: Being Young, Black and Male - False. He submitted a proposal to Palgrave, which was accepted, but the book was never published.
• Claimed to be a Visiting Professor in universities in Ohio, Glasgow and in South Africa - False.
• 2023 - Given the 2002 Professorial Chair in the Sociology of Education at Cambridge University - True.
• Claimed there was a pig's head delivered to his parents' home - Unproven. Later claimed he reported it to police, but the police deny that.
• Claimed an armed man with a knife threatened him at his workplace - Unproven. Did not report it to the police.
• Called the police on a journalist who asked him questions - True. The police subsequently accused the journalist of racial harassment and ordered him not to contact Arday.
• September 2025 - Arday's lawyers Carter-Ruck forced the Times Education Supplement to not publish a story on claims of plagiarism - True.
• 5 August 2026 - Writes a resignation letter from his position at Cambridge University. The letter is revealed to have been 100% AI generated.
