Good vs. Evil

The present writer is confused, as is much of the West. Does evil exist in the world? Apparently not, as whenever the subject arises the response is an equivocal "Yeah, but..." followed by a rambling attempt to say that good and evil, like male and female, are just "constructs", opinions, and things which cannot, and should not, be distinguished as real and unique. Well, the present writer thinks otherwise. Evil exists, and it is clear for anyone to see, viz., rape, torture, murder, abuse, theft, belittlement, all the "isms". These reflect the so-called dark side of the human psyche and are clearly distinguished. One simply needs to look at the law of the land to see how society has sought to limit evil and to punish those who commit evil.  So there should be no equivocation over the existence of evil, but there can be debate over its precise parameters in certain circumstances. For example, if one group invades another and, in the process, kills innocent people, then if the latter group response in attacking and killing perpetrators of individual evils act, then the responders are not identified as evil, but more as just. This is often how it is, and how it can and should be. Some would argue that "eye for an eye" is never acceptible, and this writer would tend to agree. However, in instance of war and imminent threat, defence which can result in the death or incapacitation of the attacker is warranted and acceptible.

Why is this being discussed at all? Because at present (2026) there is, for example, in Great Britain, a process called "2-tier policing" where evil as carried out in regards to the rape of young women is not necessarily classified as such if the perpetrators are Muslim, and specifically Pakistani or North African immigrants and "refugees"; yet, if they are non-Muslim, they are dealt with as the law, and as society, had deemed they should be dealt with for decades, and usually with imprisonment. Here we have officialdom distorting the definition of evil, based on individual adherance to Islamic ideology which see women as less than man and condones slavery and the abuse of women, to a degree where stoning to death is a common female punishment for adultery.
